Power of Attorney

Power Of Attorney

A power of attorney in Texas is a document that gives one person authority to handle certain matters on behalf of another person.  These matters may include buying and selling property, managing businesses, claims and litigation, tax matters and other financial transactions.  It can be very useful in certain situations.  Sometimes you have a loved one or you have a physical disability that doesn't allow you to leave the home.  In times like these a power of attorney can be of great help.

However, keep in mind that a power of attorney can be done only if the person that is giving the power of attorney to someone else is of sound mind.  Nevertheless, it can still be helpful since a person of sound mind can sign a power of attorney (POA) and the POA can become effective when the person becomes incapacitated or disabled or the POA can state it continues even if the person that signs it becomes disabled or incapacitated.

We are located in Laredo, TX and have more than 10+ years of experience.

Medical Power of Attorney

A medical power of attorney in Texas gives a person authority to make medical decisions on behalf of another if that other person becomes physically or mentally disabled. Usually a doctor has to certify that you are disabled in order for the medical power of attorney to become effective.
